Two semi-detached modular houses were built off-site and craned onto pre-constructed foundations. Two modules were needed for each home.The construction is a hybrid of stainless steel framework with a lightweight concrete floor deck.
The project is part of the Challenge Fund 2 Programme which aims to provide much needed homes for key workers.
The Development Manager for Genesis Housing Group says “This form of construction produces less waste, is a more accurate building process, reduces living costs for residents and is erected on site both quickly and safely, reducing the number of hours workers are required on location.”
